Just the other day, I was asked, what are some important lessons I learnt in the last 12 months.

For anyone who knows me, knows that I have spent the last 20 or so years in the internet, telecom and tech industry. I built a successful tech and telecom business from the ground up. Grew it over 50 times, helping and impacting many lives, spanning across various countries. With a team of some wonderful people, we achieved many breakthroughs in our markets, earning admiration, love, respect and a good name.

Just 10 years ago, if you’d have asked me if I thought that there would be a day, I’d not be part of that company, my response would have been “you are crazy!”. That day came in early 2019; it was time for my exit.

However much I believe, care and love the company or the business, there will be a day that I will have to leave it all behind.

No matter how old or big I get, I must constantly reinvent myself. I must learn, unlearn, and change if I want to grow personally, professionally or spiritually. And, sometimes, the process or pace at which I have to reinvent myself is hard and exhausting.

The best way to deal with that is acceptance. Accept that if you are like me, then this process (of reinventing) will continue until the day I die, and that I must thoroughly enjoy it.

No matter how much I love my job, position, career, service, company and business, I must not get attached to it. It is a part of my life but not my WHOLE life.

Things are and will always be vehicles to enhance my journey, and not my whole journey or ultimate goal. For me, my ultimate goal is always, HAPPINESS!

If you still struggle with endings, remember everything that starts, must end but only for something else to start again.

I hope my lessons are useful to you. Tell me about some of your important lessons.

Remember to keep learning, reinventing and hustling.
